And if you do know what it should look like then you might as well tweak it on the drawing rather than the reference. It is customizable, but the options are all weird tbh, it takes a lot of tweaking on the seemingly random sliders to get something that looks normal, but if you don't already know exactly what it should look like you might as well just use another reference to get the anatomy and use design doll for the gesture. Not a huge issue but it's kinda annoying considering that the anatomy looks better than what design doll has) Lately I've been using the poser that comes with clipstudio, but it has a couple details that really bug me (if you rotate the hand for example, the joint is at the wrist and it breaks the model a bit. If you rotate the hand for example, the forearm twists with it, if you raise the arm the joint starts at the clavicle, but it does have some weird bulging in places.
It's pretty good software and the "ragdoll"(not sure what else to call it) mechanics are pretty nice. I have design doll installed, but honestly it's been a while since I've used it.
